After a week in New York City for business, I made some time to go exploring Long Island.
The Fire Island Lighthouse has protected sailors from the south shore of Long Island since 1858. These are the keepers’ quarters.
The lighthouse was originally 200 feet from shore. Since then, the beach has expanded and left it much further from water.
