No visit to Rio is complete without a visit to the iconic statue; wouldn’t you agree?

Cristo Redentor · Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Since the famous statue is atop one of Rio’s many peaks, it offers some spectacular views of the city and ocean:

Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Cristo Redentor, Raio de Janerio, Brazio

On the tram back down, we were treated to some local samba music:

Trem do Corcovado, Rio de Janerio, Brazil

We later visited Sugarloaf Peak (known locally as Morro de Urca), which allowed us to enjoy more views of the city and its beaches.

Morro de Urca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Morro de Urca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Morro de Pão de Açucar, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Tomorrow we leave Rio to see Iguaçu Falls.
