We left Vienna this morning and made a long road trip west across Austria with a little side trip through Slovenia. We are just now at our hotel in Venice. What an amazing, bizarre, fascinating city!
Also: it’s really really hot and humid here.
First, a few photos from our brief foray into Slovenia this afternoon …
Like most major cities, Venice runs a bus line … except theirs are on ferries.
It took us most of an hour to make the 9km / 6mi journey from where we parked our car to our hotel, but we managed to time it to be on the water just as the sun was setting.
That meant we got some pretty spectacular views, especially towards the end.
We’re staying another night in Venice. Can’t wait to explore more!
