We spent today exploring the city of Kyōto.
We started with a simple walk around our immediate neighborhood:
The Yasaka Shrine is just a few minutes’ walk from where we’re staying:
Ayla had done some research that suggested the Inari shrine would be worth visiting. She was so right about that! We took a short train ride and spent the afternoon there:
One of the highlights of the trip was meeting long-time friend and Lightroom collaborator, Jeffrey Friedl. Though American born, Jeffrey has lived in Kyōto for most of the last few decades. Having a bilingual guide to show us around the city was invaluable. And it was just fun to finally meet in person.
