I flew down to Salt Lake City today. I’ll work for a couple of days from there and then my daughter and I will embark on a road trip together for a few days.

By far, the highlight of this flight was this spectacular view of Mount Rainier.

An aerial view of the snow- and glacier-capped summit of Mount Rainier, its rugged ridges and ice fields spread out below, with hazy blue mountain ranges receding into the distance.

Later, on approach to Salt Lake, we were treated to some nice views of rural Utah at sunset:

An aerial view from high altitude looking out over an arid landscape of tan and brown plains scored with circular pivot-irrigation fields, bordered by hazy ridges and low mountains, under a deep blue sky with scattered puffy white clouds along the horizon.
above Cedar Creek, Utah
An aerial view over a flat agricultural valley near Hooper, Utah, with a patchwork of green and brown fields, salt flats, and colorful evaporation ponds giving way to a body of water on the left and a range of rugged mountains under a hazy blue evening sky.

An aerial view from an airplane over the marshy wetlands and shallow ponds near the Great Salt Lake, with mudflats and salt patches spreading across the foreground, a city and its suburbs stretching along the base of the Wasatch Mountains in the distance, all under a hazy evening sky.
