On Day 3 of this trip, it was time to head to Berlin. I slept in a bit, which left only a little time for exploring along the way.

Warsaw, Poland

A green grain field dotted with blue cornflowers along its edge, bordered on the left by a sandy footpath through tall grass and backed by a dense row of dark green trees under a bright sky with scattered white clouds.

A wide rural landscape near Piątek, Poland, showing a green grain field dotted with blue cornflowers in the foreground, with low farm buildings, silos, and a treeline along the horizon under a bright blue sky scattered with cumulus and rippled clouds.

A narrow asphalt path runs through rural countryside, with dense green shrubs and tall grass along the left edge and a wide field of green cereal crops on the right, bordered by a line of trees and a partly cloudy sky overhead.

Welcome to Berlin!

Berlin, Germany
The Berlin Victory Column rises against a heavy grey overcast sky, topped by a gilded winged statue of Victoria holding a wreath and staff, with the dark fluted column decorated with gold cannon barrels and a colonnaded base below.

The Fernsehturm (TV Tower) was built during the Communist era to broadcast radio and TV signals throughout Eastern Germany. Today it is a popular tourist attraction with a restaurant that offers panoramic views of the entire city. (Sadly, I didn’t have time to go.)

The Berlin Fernsehturm TV tower rises against a clear deep-blue evening sky, its slender concrete shaft topped by a spherical observation deck and a tall red-and-white antenna spire. Dark silhouetted treetops frame the bottom of the frame, with the glass facade of the Park Inn hotel visible at the lower right.

Looking forward to the next few days at the European Identity Conference!
