We’ve spent the last couple days of our time in Australia at a lovely resort in Noosa Heads. Most of yesterday was spent on some leisurely hikes around Noosa National Park and today we drove back to Brisbane.

An elevated view looking down on rugged, layered grey rocks jutting into clear turquoise and green ocean water, with white foam swirling around the rock formations and a strip of green coastal vegetation in the lower foreground.

Pandanus trees with spiky tufts of foliage grow among large granite boulders along a rocky coastline at Granite Bay, with turquoise waves breaking on the shore beneath a clear deep-blue sky.

The smooth, peeling pale trunks of a paperbark or eucalyptus tree branching near its base, surrounded by dense green ferns, grasses, and bushland along a coastal walking track on a sunny afternoon.

A coastal view from a rocky headland at golden hour, with the low sun glowing orange above distant hills and a calm bay. A silhouetted tree trunk stands in the foreground on the right, with a gnarled tree branch arching across the top of the frame, and a small boat sits anchored in the water at left.

A coastal headland view at sunset over a calm bay, with the sun low on the horizon casting a golden reflection across the water onto rocky shoreline below. Twisted coastal trees and shrubs frame the scene in the foreground, with distant hills and mountains visible across the water.

We took a leisurely drive along the coast and arrived at our hotel at the Brisbane Airport just in time to see sunset over the airfield with a hint of a view of the central city:

An airport control tower with red aviation lights rising above low buildings at dusk, with the lights of Brisbane city and distant hills glowing on the horizon under a partly cloudy sky tinged orange near the skyline.

This will probably be the last post for this trip. Tomorrow (Sunday) we take the long flight home. With the rebooking, we have comfortable seats, but not window seats.

Thank you to Australia for being a lovely host for this adventure and thank you to my daughter for being a lovely travel companion.

Looking forward to sharing the next adventure soon!
